Vancouver, BC

Have any of you been to Vancouver and/or Whistler, British Columbia?

My husband and I are going there the 10th through the 18th and I was curious if you had any recommendations of things we should do.

We're flying in to Seattle to visit my sister, her husband, and my cute little nephew (can't wait!) for lunch and then driving up to Vancouver. I'll be exploring by myself for a few days in Vancouver while hubby is in the conference, and then we're driving up to Whistler (where all the skiing for the 2010 Olympics will be held) for the next few days.

If you have any suggestions, send them my way please.

Needless to say, I won't be able to blog during those days most likely, but I'll try to post some photos when we return.

  1. Maija went there one Spring Break when she was in college. Email her... you can get her email address through the ECA alumni link or just ask me for it and I'll send it to you directly.

A church friend of mine is moving there in just a couple weeks, right after her wedding. I'll ask her if I can send you her email address and let you know soon. She and her fiance will have a lot more information, since the fiance lives there now and is a grad student at UVic.

  2. I found your blog through the Homespun Heart and spent my college years near Vancouver. Some things I would recommend in Vancouver would be going to Gastown, Stanley Park and Canada Place. Some friends of ours love Lighthouse Park, too. I've heard great things about the Botanical Gardens in Vancouver, too. If you can make it to Victoria, Butchart Gardens is very nice. On the drive from Vancouver to Whistler, there are some cool falls on the right (east) side of the road that are cool. The name escapes me at the moment. Have a great trip!
